How does tattoo removal work?

The Tri-beam laser delivers a photo-acoustic pulse which shatters tattoo pigments in your skin into much smaller pieces, allowing your body's natural healing response to filter out the ink from your system. This results in the gradual fading of your tattoo as your body works to eliminate the ink. Check out our photo gallery to see the results for yourself!

How many sessions are required?

Tattoo removal generally requires a series of 5-10 or more treatments, with sessions spaced out at 2-3 monthly intervals. The precise number of sessions depends on several factors: Density and depth of the ink, age and location of the tattoo, as well as your skin type and personal health will all affect how well your body responds to laser treatment. Does tattoo removal hurt?

Most people will experience pain or discomfort when receiving laser tattoo removal. For this reason, we recommend purchasing and applying a topical numbing cream such as Emla or TKTX (better for deeper or very dense tattoos) to be applied 2 hours prior to treatment. Don't forget to wrap or cover the tattoo tightly with some cling film and tape after applying a thick heavy layer of the cream, for best numbing effect.

Can all skin types be treated?

All skin types can be treated for laser tattoo removal, however treating darker skin poses a greater risk of hypo/hyperpigmentation in the skin following treatment. For this reason, more conservative laser settings and greater wait-times between treatments must be used, meaning results may be achieved more slowly on darker skin.

How much does tattoo removal cost?

Single-session rates range from 65-150 for most tattoos, depending on the size/area of ink and complexity of the job. Choose to pay-as-you-go or save further with a Complete removal package deal - this option gets you as many sessions as needed to completely remove your tattoo for one upfront payment.

Do you treat Eyebrows?

The tri-beam laser is highly effective at removing cosmetic inks used for permanent makeup such as eyebrow tattoos/microblading. Some considerations before deciding to undertake laser brow removal:

1. Shaving brows may be necessary in certain cases, particularly if you have bushy or very dark brows.

2. Changes in colour are common throughout the brow removal process. Depending on the inks used, brows may change from dark, to red/orange, and finally to yellow before fading out completely.

3. Pain: Laser treatment can be quite painful on the brows, particularly if the ink is very dark. We recommend purchasing a topical numbing cream such as emla and applying over the brows 1-2 hours before your session for a more comfortable experience (cover brows with some cling film and tape after applying a thick layer of the cream, for best numbing effect).

What is the aftercare for tattoo removal?

Aftercare involves avoiding direct sun exposure on the treated area for at least 2-4 weeks following treatment. You will also need to keep the area clean and protected from bacteria - we recommend applying a thin-layer of bepanthen antibacterial ointment or vaseline 2-3 times daily after treatment until the skin has healed and any scabbing or crusting has subsided.

You will be provided with a comprehensive aftercare guide after your initial session.

You also need to avoid swimming, hot tubs/spas and saunas for 3-5 days or until any scabbing has healed.
